My Journey With Plant Medicine
Since early childhood I have felt drawn to the world of green. I had no idea that plants could heal, but I played with them as if they could. Later on in life I experienced a serious "goosebump" sensation when I learned that plants had been healing for time immemorial. Of course they do! They had been telling me that for a long, long time… I have “played” with the healing qualities of plants for as long as I can remember. As I moved around in the world as a young adult, every town I visited, I had to find the local herb store. And I read and read. Although I was completely involved in my theatrical profession, I never lost interest. At that time there really wasn’t any training available that I was aware of. I eventually left my career in order to raise my children. I continued to use herbs to aid my children’s health, but knew that any intensive study must be delayed until my children were old enough to handle my time away.

To that end, I have recently finished the Certified Herbalist Degree Program with the East West School of Herbology. This gives me the ability to assess my clients with a Traditional Chinese Medicine model.
I find myself working with folks to help them heal themselves- to hook them up with the plants that will assist them in their journeys. To this end, I am also learning as much as I can about the local healing plants and how to work with them. I will be taking photos of them and writing articles about them. As Eliot Cowan, author of “Plant Spirit Medicine” says- Locally grown plants are thousands times more powerful than any exotic plant.
This is why I present this site to you- to assist me in my ongoing learning process and to, hopefully, share my absolute love of the world of plant medicine with you!
